The Golden Light
About this photo
This is a 3-shot panorama of the interior of Solitude Palace just outside of Stuttgart, Germany. The source photos were shot just after sunset which created this nice golden glow because the interior was lit only by the lamps that you see in the image. Some of the lighting effects were also added in Lightroom during the post-processing stage. I will publish a tutorial on this type of re-lighting soon.
Before and After
How the photo was shot
- All source images were taken from a tripod with a DIY panorama head that was precisely adjusted.
- A single exposure of 4 seconds at f/8 and ISO 100 was use for each section of the panorama.
- Camera: Nikon D7000
- Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED
How the image was post-processed
The sections were stitched in Photoshop CC using the default settings of the Photomerge function. The resulting raw panorama was then corrected manually and cropped in Photoshop. The final post-processing was done in Lightroom were I used some local adjustments to add some lighting effects.
