Happy Valentine’s Day! (HDR)

The story of this photo:
Happy valentine’s day to everybody! I got this rose as a Valentine’s day present for my girlfreind. Of course, I had to set it up and take a few photos. In the end, this HDR version truned out to be the best.

Take a look at my “HDR Cookbook”! It contains some more information on my techniques.

How it was shot:
> Using a tripod
> HDR from 3 exposures (0,-2,+2 ev) – RAW files
> Camera: Nikon D90
> Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm 1:1,8G
> Details can be found here

How it was tonemapped:
> Photomatix (Detail Enhancer)

How it was post-processed:
> Topaz ReMask to isolate the rose in the foreground from the background
> Topaz Detail to enhance the details and the colors of the rose
> Topaz Denoise to get rid of the noise artifacts produced by Photomatix and Topaz Adjust
> Saturation layer (master) to desaturate the background
> Sharpening using the high pass filter
> Cropping
